Asia is a British rock band founded in 1981. According to a common formula on the progressive scene from the mid-seventies onwards, Asia was born as a supergroup, or as a common project of musicians already famous for having played in great rock bands; in this case Yes (Steve Howe, Geoff Downes), UK (John Wetton) and Emerson, Lake & Palmer (Carl Palmer).
Numerous covers of Asia's albums until 2001 and after the reunion of the original line-up are the work of Roger Dean, famous illustrator of most of Yes's works.
