Julius Caesar is geland in Groot-Brittannië, waar een klein dorpje moedig stand houdt tegen de Romeinse Legioenen. Maar de situatie wordt kritiek en de dorpsbewoners kunnen het niet langer meer aan. Wanneer Jolitorax (één van de dorpsbewoners) op zoek gaat naar vrijwilligers om de hulp in te roepen van zijn neef Gaul Asterix en brengt zo een ketel met toverdrank mee naar het Britse dorpje.
