Sheeple. Don't you just love the term? A brash generalization of empty watery eyed alcohol abusers with more baggage than the total tonnage of the HMS Titanic. I have more than a few of these coming through my checkout line. Anonymous faces whose years of misery, self loathing, and finely tuned masks drop for just a moment when their groceries are being checked. I wonder how we as a species got to this point where the 'daily grind' has become so ingrained that we think that being unhappy should be the status quo.
Then again, there is tremendous profit in keeping people depressed. Just look at Pheizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Roche, Bristol Myers-Squibb, Abbot labs, & Eli Lilly. All of these companies have a vested interest in keeping us, the downtrodden masses under the thumb of sweet sweet chemical induced apathy. Ignoring the fact that we could be happy if we did what we wanted to do instead of spending our lives indebted to the lender, chasing fleeting consumerist dreams which when we catch them we find are half full chip bags of mostly air with a bigger better greener model just around the corner enticing us to spend our hard earned space-bucks that we have yet to even earn.
And what is our typical response? "Eh, it's to much trouble to worry about. I'mma gonna go look at some hentai instead."
Which brings us to our purpose here today. I've been hard at work obtaining some decent stuff for you this month.
