Wanneer Ted (Zac Efron) erachter komt dat een harteloze ondernemer van plan is om alle omliggende bomen in de bossen neer te halen en daarmee ook alle dieren die in, op, onder of tussen de bomen wonen te laten verdwijnen, gaat-ie op zoek naar de 'Lorax' (Danny DeVito), een wezentje dat het opneemt voor deze bossen.
