Il film rappresenta la rivisitazione in chiave contemporanea della storia di Bonnie e Clyde. I due ragazzi sono studenti di provincia. Clyde lavora la sera come cameriere in un fast food, mentre Bonnie è la figlia del capo della polizia locale. I due fanno conoscenza quando Bonnie e il suo ragazzo, durante una rapina, devastano il locale dove Clyde lavora. All'inizio i due si ignorano, ma un giorno Clyde la salva, e le offre un giro su un furgone rubato. Da quel momento i ragazzi scelgono di seguire la via del crimine, con l'aiuto dell'armeria del padre della ragazza.
