The young Rodrigo, accused of treason, must defend himself before the King. Insulted by Gormaz, father of his girlfriend Jimena, Rodrigo kills him to a duel. Jimena while loving Rodrigo, swears to avenge his father's death. Rodrigo has meanwhile asked the King to be able to fight in a duel against an opponent for the conquest of a city. Rodrigo passes the test and the King proclaims his champion recognizing him innocent of the accusation of treason. Despite this, Jimena has not yet forgiven her father's killer and retires to a convent vowing never to see Rodrigo again. Immediately after the wedding was celebrated for the King's will. Time passes and the dead King is succeeded by his three sons who fight each other for the conquest of absolute power. Deprived of his rank and his possessions, Rodrigo is banished forever from Castile; but she will have the joy of being joined by Jimena who has finally understood her husband's greatness. Years go by and Rodrigo - called the Cid Campeador - has become one of Spain's most feared leaders. The CID is now in front of Valencia: when the city falls, the crown of Valencia is delivered to Rodrigo. In front of the city, many Mori warriors have landed. Valencia can not stand another siege. Rodrigo at the head of his men, sows terror in the enemy camp, but an arrow hits him in the chest. During the night the Cid dies. The following morning Rodrigo's body is placed on his steed. The Moors, terrified by the appearance of the invincible figure, flee to the sea.
