De voormalige undercover-agente Francine Driver, die zich voordoet als een huurmoordenaar, ontmoet een tandarts in een bar in Los Angels. Zijn naam is Nick en hij wil zijn vrouw dood hebben. Hij heeft echter niet de benodigde vooruitbetaling van $20.000 voorhanden maar belooft dat hij die vannacht nog kan regelen. Als Nick vertrekt ontmoet Francine de jongeman Henry die haar verleidt, om er uiteindelijk met haar portemonnee vandoor te gaan. In haar portemonnee zit belastend bewijsmateriaal, namelijk het opname apparaat waarmee ze het gesprek met Nick heeft opgenomen. Dan begint ze aan een verwoede zoektocht in de bars en clubs van Los Angeles..
Storyline
A dentist teams up with a feisty would-be assassin to put the final touches on the plan to kill his wife. Once he makes a play for the assassin's payment, he unknowingly sets off a chain of events that fuels a cross-town journey through the many lounges, bars, strip clubs and the occasional nudist ping pong club scattered across Los Angeles. Along the way, we are introduced to a series of idiosyncratic characters, from gangsters to exotic dancers, from ex-cons to cops, with the odd hatcheck girl and bartender thrown in for good measure.
