Arkansas oil-worker-turned-songwriter, Heath Sanders EP ‘Common Ground’ strikes a balance between sensual ballads, defiant who-I-am statements and the common ground we all share in todays world. With hints of Luke Combs and Eric Church teasing through the young artists record, this feels like the start of something bigger for this future fan favourite.

‘Old Schools In’ which kicks off the EP brings with it a sense of authenticity embracing the old school way of doing things. Shaking hands, mama still cooking and three chords and the truth. A sense of 90’s country brought into today.

Speaking about his musical dreams Sanders said ‘growing up as a working man, where I come from, your pleasure and your dreams are put on the back-burner. All that matters is hard work and dedication to family’. Ever since he’s gone viral for posting a Chris Stapleton cover of ‘Either Way’, his chasing of his dreams has proved to be successful.

Sanders continues the EP slowing down with “Can’t Undo I Do” paining a picture of going through hard times in a relationship, but showing his willingness to become better and improve. Yet it’s ‘Common Ground’ that really stands out. In a world filled with so much negativity at times, it’s refreshing to hear we’re all still on the same journey from the start to the end.

The EP ends on ‘Love Needs Makin’. One to put on the romantic playlists, it’s reminiscent of Blake Shelton’s ‘Ready To Roll’ or William Michael Morgan’s ‘Vinyl’. Sanders has a versatile vocal, one of charming his listeners in songs like this or being able to amping up the crowd for the heavier side of country.

It’s an exciting time to get a head start on this young artists career having recently featured on The Bobby Bones Show and had some viral content. With his small town background and honest writing, it’s easy to see a big future for Heath Sanders.
