[ITA] Heimat è un film del 1992 diretto dal regista tedesco Edgar Reitz. È diviso in 13 episodi. Racconta la storia di Hermann Simon dal 1960 al 1970, quando, lasciato il villaggio dell'Hunsrück descritto nel primo Heimat, si trasferisce a Monaco di Baviera in cerca di fortuna.
Episodio 11 - L'epoca del silenzio (Rob, 1967/68): Viene ripreso il personaggio di Esther, l'amante veneziana di Reinhard, che intraprende un viaggio alla ricerca della vera storia della sua famiglia, visitando Dachau. Benché il titolo sia dedicato a Rob, che apre e chiude l'episodio, in realtà l'attenzione di Reitz si sposta di nuovo su Hermann e Schnuesschen, su Clarissa e Volker. Per un momento le due coppie sembrano incrociarsi. L'arte centrale è qui il cinema, e Reitz sembra quasi faticare a mettere a fuoco il suo soggetto, forse per pudore, forse nel timore di dirci qualcosa che a lui stesso parrebbe banale. Ci dice però qualcosa di importante, e di universale, sul senso dell'amicizia che tende ad appannarsi in vicinanza dell'opportunità di risolvere i propri problemi, dopo tanto aspettare invano.
