It was in the dark winter of 2003 that 3 guys of a death-metal outfit from Aizwal finally decided that there should be a permanent representative in the seat of raving Delhi. They did that in the form of an upstart death-metal band called IIIrd Sovereign.
The band initially comprised of Jonah (ex-Carpathia) on the Vocals and Bass, Jason on the Guitars and Reuben (ex-Carpathia) on the Drums. After they played their first and extremely successful gig at the Lunglei (Mizoram), there was no looking back since. From then on, the band had gone through a great transformation, witnessing the arrival of Mala in 2003 upto 2006, to be replaced by the current vocalist Vedant. Jason too left the band in mid 2005, whose place has been replaced by Anshuman (Tear Cube), shortly followed by another replacement, Benjamin.Victor(ex-Magdalene) too toured with the band for a short while. The band composed their first original number "Face of Despair" at Reuben’s dimly lit garage filled with cobwebs and stench of rotting flesh.
Vega Studio later came (with oxygen masks) and recorded that number and released it on a death-metal compilation CD "Resurrection" comprising of all the Top Indian Death-metal bands. In the dark tormented summer of 2006, the power and glory of death-metal became a gruesome reality with the release of IIIrd Sovereign’s first EP entitled "Horrified Visions" with the band line-up of Mala (Vocals), Anshuman (Guitars), Jonah (Bass) and Reuben (Drums).
The band then recorded their next single "Everlasting burn", which is released in the Great Indian Rock (GIR) compilation 2007. Their full-length debut album "Destined to suffer" was recorded in August 2007 at the band's home studio and was released through Demonstealer Records with the band line-up of Vedant (Vocals), Benjamin (Guitars), Jonah (Bass) and Reuben (Drums). Then soon after the release of their debut album"Destined to suffer" Jonah(Bass)left the band and went back to Aizwal due to personal reasons but shortly after jonah's departure band got a new replacement for Jonah as Vicky(Narsil and ex Hollowcaust) on Bass.
