Love Actually – L’amore davvero è un film del 2003 diretto da Richard Curtis. Il film segue le vicende di diverse coppie inglesi che, durante il periodo di Natale si trovano a fare i conti con i loro sentimenti. Mentre Billy Mack (Bill Nighy) tenta la scalata nelle hit parade con la cover di ‘Love is All around’, Juliet (Keira Knightley) e Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) convolano a nozze. Ben presto, la ragazza capirà perché Mark (Andrew Lincoln) si è sempre mostrato distaccato nei suoi confronti. Tra gli invitati al matrimonio c’è Jamie (Colin Firth) che, proprio quella sera, scopre l’infedeltà della sua fidanzata. Decide così di trasferirsi a Marsiglia, dove l’incontro con la domestica Aurelia cambierà la sua vita.
Intanto, Karen (Emma Thompson) si dedica alla sua famiglia e a suo fratello David (Hugh Grant), ma si renderà conto ben presto di aver trascurato suo marito, Harry (Alan Rickman). David, neo Primo Ministro, sarà colto da un inaspettato moto di gelosia, che lo spingerà a rischiare, facendo all’Inghilterra il discorso più celebre della sua carriera. Per Daniel (Liam Neeson) il Natale è amaro, dal momento che ha perso sua moglie per colpa di una malattia e deve badare al figlio adolescente Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster).
Impreparato a dare i giusti consigli, Daniel si improvviserà cupido, inconsapevole che la freccia dell’amore sta per colpire anche lui. Anche Sarah (Laura Linney), impiegata nell’ufficio di Harry, sogna di innamorarsi e la vigilia sembra il momento perfetto per avvicinare l’affascinante Karl (Rodrigo Santoro). La donna, tuttavia, si troverà ad un bivio: scegliere l’amore passionale o l’amore per la famiglia? Anche il fattorino Colin cerca l’amore, sebbene sia diventato lo zimbello di tutti. L’uomo, infatti, crede di essere irresistibile e, grazie alla magia del Natale, riuscirà a provare di essere un rubacuori nel paese sbagliato. Intanto, sul set di un film, John (Martin Freeman) e Judy lavorano come controfigure per le scene erotiche, ma iniziano a provare dei reali sentimenti l’uno per l’altra...
