About the Author
Jen Cushman is a natural storyteller who found mixed media art twelve years ago and never looked back. She is drawn to the imperfect, the funky, the quirky, the artsy and the authentic: be it people or objects or art. Jen began making metal jewelry in 2008, but continues create collages and assemblages in addition to her metalwork. An enthusiastic and supportive instructor, she encourages others to explore their authentic, creative process to create personal work infused with imagery and storytelling.
Jen is the author of two books; Making Metal Jewelry; How to Stamp, Forge, Fold and Form Metal Jewelry Designs (North Light Books Jan. 2013) and Explore, Create, Resinate: Mixed Media Techniques using ICE Resin®, which won a bronze medal in the 2011 IPPY (Independent Book Publishers) national book awards in the Crafts/Hobby category. She is a columnist for Belle Armoire Jewelry; Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazines and CreateMixedMedia.com. Her art has been published in various magazines, including WireWork, Belle Armoire Jewelry; Jewelry Affaire; Cloth, Paper, Scissors; Somerset Studio, Bead Design Studio and others. She's also Vice President and Creative Director of Susan Lenart Kazmer LLC/ICE Resin.
