Summary:

Farmer Vincent kidnaps unsuspecting travellers and is burying them in his garden. Unfortunately for his victims, they are not dead. He feeds his victims to prepare them for his roadside stand. His motto is: It takes all kinds of critters...to make Farmer Vincents fritters. The movie is gory, but is also a parody of slasher movies like Last House on the Left.

Note : This goofy horror comedy is a pretty obvious spoof of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, but that doesn't mean it's bad, on the contrary, it's quite a bit better than you might expect, if you're up for the pretty broad humor. The horror part of it is in fact kind of horrific, if not very graphic at all (another thing it shares with Texas Chain Saw, I guess), and both the acting, cinematography, and even some of the effects are above average. Well worth a look.

Farmer Vincent runs a smoked meat factory and also a motel on his property, helped by his sister Ida, but he has a dark secret, he likes to set "traps" for passing motorists, slit their vocal cords and keep them "planted" in his garden up to their necks until they're fattened up enough to be butchered for meat (the details of this are both horrific and psychedelically weird). One day, he arranges an accident for a passing motorcyclist, but he takes a fancy to the female passenger Terry, taking her to his farm to recover while he tells her the man she was with died in the accident. Terry's arrival upsets the balance of his relationship with his sister and also his naïve brother, the local sheriff, who becomes Vincent's rival for Terry's love, all while Vincent keeps "trapping" various tourists, including a couple who mistake the motel for a swinger joint and a punk band in a VW van. Things come to a head, literally, as Vicent dons a pig's head as a mask and enters a chainsaw duel for survival.

This 4k remaster is ok looking, although the film is quite dark, but grain and detail is nice, and contrast and color also decent. Stereo track sounds fine, and the two commentary tracks are pretty entertaining.
