A Covenant for Civility: Come Let Us Reason Together:
Beware of false teachings occurring these days which will bring about the rise of the anti-christ. The UN has always had as its goal a one-world government and a one-world religion. The strategy is to create an "inclusive" religion where all gods are equal; which means that none are the God of Israel. Those who won't join this inclusive religion will be viewed as outsiders, hateful, rigid, etc. This "Covenant for Civility" is another tool for that. It sounds good on the surface...and who wants to be uncivil....but who gets to decide what "civil" is? Our God has his ideas written down for millennia and they don't seem to want to follow those rules for being "civil"
As of April 2010, this "covenant for civility," signed by over 100 "faith leaders" and publicized by Jim Wallis and Sojourners, practically begs for a contrarian response devoid of all truth and sugar. From the smarmy (not to mention insider-y) centrism of the subtitle ("Come, let us reason together," a misapplication of Isaiah if there ever was one), to the more-in-sadness-than-in-anger a historical fretting about what has happened to American political discourse, the project fairly cries out for a sound thumping by the very contemptuous churls it seeks to corral.

Satan is currently mustering an army of cowards that will one day champion his evil purposes. The people I am referring to are not outside the evangelical movement but within it. The Bible calls it the Great Apostasy. Whether one believes that these apostates are professing Christians who were never truly converted or that they knew the Lord but backslid into open apostasy, we can all agree that they will prove to be turncoats to the Lord before it’s all over.
The truth is that it often takes a crisis to prove the mettle of a person’s character. Heroes and cowards don’t always stand out in everyday life. It often isn’t until some calamity occurs that their true character emerges.
How will you and I react when facing overwhelming pressure to abandon our faith? The example of the Ten Boom family makes it clear that the kind of courage needed in such a time will not come from one’s natural disposition but from the life we have in God. Our relationship to the Lord will determine how we will handle the adversity and danger of that time. If this is true, then we should be able to predict how we will carry ourselves during those times that “will be full of danger.” I believe the issues reflected in the following questions can help us accurately assess the level of our readiness.
What is the level of my selfishness or selflessness in my interactions with other people?
How concerned am I about what people think of me?
What is the quality of my devotional life?

C S Lewis - In His Own Words:
Today C.S. Lewis is revered by many “Christians” as a master of Christian apologetics. He was the author of 40+ books which included poems, novels, children’s books, science fiction, theology, literary criticisms, educational philosophy and an autobiography.
In his book “Mere Christianity” pp. 176-177 he wrote: ‘There are people in other religions who are being led by God’s secret influence to concentrate on those parts of their religion which are in agreement with Christianity, and who thus belong to Christ without knowing it …Many of the good Pagans long before Christ’s birth may have been in this position’.
In a previous issue of Christianity Today (6/15/98, p.30) Millet, dean of Brigham Young University, is quoted as saying that C.S. Lewis ‘is so well received by Latter-day Saints [Mormons] because of his broad and inclusive vision of Christianity’ In Letters to Malcolm (p. 107), Lewis indicates that shortly before his death he termed himself ‘very Catholic’ — his prayers for the dead, belief in purgatory, and rejection of the literal resurrection of the body are serious deviations from Biblical Christianity (C.S. Lewis: A Biography, p. 234); he even went to a priest for regular confession (p. 198), and received the sacrament of extreme unction on 7/16/63 (p. 301).
His contention that ‘Christ fulfils both Paganism and Judaism …’ is extremely unscriptural. (Reflections on the Psalms, p.129). He also believed the Book of Job is ‘unhistorical’ (pp. 110), and that the Bible contained ‘error’ (pp.110, 112) and is not divinely inspired (The Inklings, p. 175). Lewis used profanities, told bawdy stories, and frequently got drunk with his students(5/19/90, World magazine.

The Great Controversy Chapt 3; An Era of Spiritual Darkness:
THE apostle Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, foretold the great apostasy which would result in the establishment of the papal power. He declared that the day of Christ should not come, "except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." And furthermore, the apostle warns his brethren that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work." 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4, 7. Even at that early date he saw, creeping into the church, errors that would prepare the way for the development of the papacy.
