Summary:

Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

Trama:
In questo quarto capitolo della serie meta-horror diretta da Wes Craven, Sidney è divenutata autrice di un manuale di auto-aiuto, e come ultima tappa del tour promozionale del libro torna proprio a Woodsboro. Lì riallaccia i contatti con lo sceriffo Dewey e sua moglie Gale, e anche con la giovane cugina Jill e la zia Kate. Ma, con il ritorno di Sidney a casa, tornano anche gli omicidi di Ghostface, che pare prendere di mira il liceo frequentato da Jill.
