Summary:
A veteran samurai, who has fallen on hard times, answers a village's request for protection from bandits. He gathers 6 other samurai to help him, and they teach the townspeople how to defend themselves, and they supply the samurai with three small meals a day. DescriptionSeven Samurai (1954) aka Shichinin no samurai, directed by Akira Kurosawa, hybrid 4k remaster, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including unfiltered and filtered versions of the original Japanese theatrical mono, three commentary tracks, and subtitles in eleven languages.
hungry samurai, and so it goes, a quest to find a group of warriors to help, starting with the team leader, Kambei, then quickly adding Katsushirō, a young samurai who wants to be Kambei's apprentice, then Shichirōji, Gorobei, Heihachi, and Kyūzō. Finally, they're joined by Kikuchiyo, an eccentric who may not actually be a samurai, but who proves so intent on joining they simply let him tag along. The samurai arrive in the village, and they start training the villagers to fight alongside them against the bandits' superior numbers. Katsushirō begins a relationship with Shino, a farmer's daughter whose father disguises her as a boy to keep her safe from the bandits, and the samurai are first angered when the villagers bring them armor and weapons they've acquired by killing samurai, but Kikuchiyo scolds them, telling them samurai have caused the people much suffering. As they come upon a group of bandit scouts, of which one makes it back to the bandit camp, the samurai's hand is forced and they decide on a preemptive strike, which starts a series of battles which will pit them and the villagers against the mounted bandits, some of whom have muskets, and seem vastly superior...
