In this last film of celebrated Director, Bappaditya Bandyopadhyay, before he died in 2015, a young woman Ria Chatterjee (Niharika Singh) goes in search of her father, Sandip Chattopadhyay (Barun Chanda). Many years ago Sandip had left her and her mother to go away to the North East. When Ria reaches Sohra village, she learns that her father too had come there. Thereafter, in a series of meetings with local people and through some imagined dialogues with her father, Ria slowly confronts the truth about herself.
Uploader's Notes:
This is a rip from a very badly authored DVD of a very good film. Unfortunately, the subtitles are hardcoded, the video bitrate of the DVD is very low leading to pixellation and blocking and the original colours are faded out. This rip attempts to restore the original color of the film, thus bringing out the pristine beauty of the hills around Cherrapunji.
This HEVC rip is not only much smaller at 500 MB, but has much less banding and the picture quality is much better.
This is a DDR TinyRip encode. It uses x.265 10-bit encoding for higher compressibility and Compressed 128 Kbps Dolby II audio to compress the original 2.5 GB WebHD into a 350 MB rip. The Quality, as you can see from the screen shots is equivalent or better than the DVD. The only compromises are the slightly smaller frame size and the compressed audio. DDR TinyRips are meant for those downloaders who want conserve bandwidth and yet enjoy high quality rips.
Be aware that this rip (and all HEVC rips) will not play on many standalone players. You need a compatible standalone video player. You can of course stream it to the large screen TV using a streaming device. On your PC please be sure to use the latest version of video players (VLC (2.1.5 or higher) or Media Player Classic (Ver 1.7.9) or SMPlayer (14.9.0) will work. Earlier versions may not).
