The performance Terry O'Quinn gives is awesomely frightening: one minute Gene is a mild-mannered gentleman, the next he's an out of control psychopath with a lust for violent actions and death.

The DVD is 720x480 progressive with 2:3 pulldown. Topaz VEAI 2.3 with the Dione DV v2 200% progressive model (json mod) was able to take this to 720p. Good 1080p isn't possible due to the limited detail in DVD video. All the bootleg "Bluray" releases of this I've found are poorly upscaled 4:3 video with visible interlace artifacts. As best as I can tell, Stepfather II has not been released on Bluray. Searches on new and used stores found only VHS and DVD.
This is the Special Edition which has the deleted scenes included in the movie. Also included from the DVD are the trailers, deleted scenes (for reference), and The Stepfather Chronicles.
