TRAMA:
In The Foreigner, a Londra, un attentato esplosivo compiuto da uomini che sostengono di appartenere alla neonata sigla Authentic IRA uccide diverse vittime innocenti, tra cui la figlia di Minh Quan, sessantenne cinese proprietario di un ristorante. L'uomo, devastato dal dolore, chiede informazioni alle autorità riguardo l'identità degli assassini ma quando non riceve risposta decide di mettersi personalmente sulle tracce del Primo Ministro Irlandese, avente un passato giovanile proprio nell'IRA, al fine di carpire a lui informazioni su chi vi sia realmente dietro l'attentato.
All'ovvio diniego del politico, che sta cercando di capire nel frattempo per conto proprio chi vi sia realmente dietro l'attacco, Quan sfodera le proprie abilità da ex-membro delle forze speciali nelle quali aveva servito in gioventù al fine di ottenere quei maledetti nomi.
STORYLINE:
The story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love - his teenage daughter - is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a Irish government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.
