It sounded like just another urban legend: A videotape filled with nightmarish images, leading to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days. As a newspaper reporter, Rachel Keller was naturally skeptical of the story, until four teenagers all met with mysterious deaths exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video... and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery of the Ring.

My Note: I DO love a good moody horror movie that's not torture porn nor (too) many loudness-based jump scares. And in my opinion, this one has just enough polish that I like it better than the Japanese original, Ringu.
Stars: Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, Brian Cox Writers: Ehren Kruger (screenplay), Kôji Suzuki (novel) Director: Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean series)
About: AV1 is a modern free format providing amazing quality at lower bitrates than h.264/265.
For improving AV1 playback use the mpv video player and follow this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/AV1/comments/gjq2mv/drastically_improving_av1_playback/
If you still can't get it to play, try using a mid to high end Android from 2016 or beyond. And even Chrome can play it if you rename the .mkv to .webm!
