The TIMES LITERARY SUPPLEMENT (TLS) is a weekly literary review published in London, founded in 1902 as a supplement to The Times. Today it is one of the world’s leading journals for literature and ideas, publishing 50 issues annually, with double issues in August and December.

The TLS publishes book reviews, book extracts, essays and poems from leading writers from around the world. It covers far more than just literature, featuring major articles on subjects from anthropology to zoology, philosophy to politics, comedy to psychology. It is the only major English-language publication to review books published in other languages, and every week reviews the latest in fiction, film, opera, theatre, dance, radio and television. Its essays are sophisticated and written with scholarly authority and in a lively style. The journal is also noted for its bibliographic thoroughness, the topical essays by the world’s leading scholars, and for the brilliance and erudition of its readers' published letters to the editor.
