I love these old Castle Communications discs as they always have something of interest mixed
up in an eclectic way. This one is no exception at all with the power guitar of Hendrix mixed
up with the standard blues of Sonny Boy Williamson. Always one or two less familiar names in
there as well which means another visit to the back catalogues to chase up stuff by artists
who sound great, surely the aim of these collections and it still works today. In my view the
weakest track is actually Hendrix, simply because it is a very indulgent track [mix] but I
hadn't heard this recorded version previously so it was welcome all the same. If you come
across this its worth a listen.
