We're Only in It For the Money è un album di Frank Zappa and The Mothers
of Invention. Come i due predecessori, il disco mescola elementi di
stili fra loro diversissimi, e parodia la cultura hippie e Summer of
Love, oltre che una satira sulla natura superficiale della vita negli
Stati Uniti.
Inizialmente pubblicato nel 1968, il disco venne ripubblicato da
Rykodisc nel 1986 con nuove registrazioni per le percussioni. Le parti
censurata sulla prima versione vennero inoltre riammesse.
Una curiosità sul disco è che venne inserito da Q magazine nella lista
dei "Migliori Album psichedelici di tutti i tempi".
La canzone Flower Punk è arrangiata su Hey Joe di Jimi Hendrix, che tra
l'altro appare sulla copertina del disco.
