Thomson's newest version of the Grass Valley ™ ProCoder 3.05.91 software encoder supports most well-known formats, including mobile devices such as the Apple® iPod, and also runs on multiprocessor and multi-core PCs.
ProCoder is designed to convert various video formats, can work as a separate application, and as a plug-in for EDIUS. ProCoder allows you to perform batch encoding, observing the priority of the sequence, and simultaneous encoding of one file in several different formats and vice versa. Filtering video allows you to achieve maximum quality during transmission, also includes additional functionality, such as color correction, noise reduction and transitions like "fade in", "fade out".
Version 3.0 includes support for the H.264 codec, which is used when creating video files for mobile devices like the Apple iPod, and decoding the AVCHD format from new-generation MPEG-4 camcorders. If you are working on a workstation with two processors or dual-core processors, then ProCoder 3.0 splits the signal processing process into several tasks, which allows for a faster conversion process.
Video files that have been converted to interlaced format using 3: 2 pull-down can now be restored using ProCoder 3.0 to the original progressive format. Audio processing now includes support for Dolby Digital. In the 3rd version also improved the work with the time code during the conversion.
