Janis Ians best album-commercialy, artistically and sonically. The original Columbia releases were sourced from multiple generation tapes and were muddy, hissy and pellucid. These were done from original master tapes, using tube equipment and even audiophile approved cables. The end result is finally as revealing as the original LP was when played on a top-tier turntable. I have owned the LP, the original CD, a remastered CD and finally this Japanese import one. The mastering engineers and equipment are essentially identical to those from the Audio Fidelity remaster series (Steve Hoffman/Kevin Gray etc) and is at least equal to the best of anything the AF has done.
