A servant boy named Xin, who aspires to become the greatest general under the heaven, is involved in a coup d'état in the royal capital and has fateful encounter with the King of Qin, Ying Zheng.
Time goes by, and Xin rises through the ranks by accumulating military achievements through friendly competition with generals of the same generation such as Meng Tian and Wang Ben. Through his exceptional talent, Ying Zheng was able to win over his younger brother Cheng Jiao and other former opponents to his side and steadily strenghten his influence within the court.
Then came the Battle of Kankoku Pass.
Led by Li Mu, a brilliant miltary strategist from Zhao, and Shun Shin Kun, the leader of Chu, five powerful nations joined forces to attack the Qin Dynasty, but the entire nation rallied to defeat the invading forces. In the coming-of-age ceremony, Kakan-no-Gi, Ying Zheng proclaims himself the 31st King of Qin and vows to regain real power in the country.
However, the battle engulfed all of China and left a huge mark on both Qin and the nations that participated in the war. Within the Qin Dynasty, there are those we take advantage of the turmoil to start a civil war.
