Synopsis:
Based on the life of the PanAm airhostess Neerja Bhanot, the fil tells the story of the Hijacking of the PanAm flight and how Neerja, the chief purser on the flight managed the situation and got nearly all the passengers out of the plane, before being shot trying to shield a couple of children from the Hijackers.
The film starts with the background of Neerja, her failed marriage (due to dowry demands) and her landing the PanAm job. On the plane it documents how one of the Hijackers (Khalil) goes out of control. After 17 hours the Planes lights start going out. The terrorists lose control and start shooting passengers. Neerja and her colleagues open the emergency chutes and get passengers out. As the terrorists get more desperate Neerja risks her own life to get a few children out. She shields them with her body, taking bullets as the terrorist starts shooting...

A film which keeps you riveted to your seat for nearly two hours, Neerja tells you an inspiring story of initial professional commitment and then raw courage of a young woman, who finally has to pay the price for her bravery, but not before she has done her duty and saved most of the passengers on board the flight.
Sonam kapoor is exceptional as Neerja. So is Jim Sarabh as Khalil, the terrrorist who goes out of control. Direction and editing of the dilm is also outstanding as is camerawork in an enclosed space.
Overall a fine film. A film worth watching.

Unlike the DVD, the Blue ray was quite good. There was an ungly yellow overall color, as has become customary and a little bit of oversaturation, but there was also a wealth of detail. This rip captures the detail well and removes the discolouration.
As promised, a rip with the same video as our earlier upload but with AC3 5.1 Channel Sound in place of DTSHD-MA. This alone allows us to reduce the size of the rip to just 2.13 GB for a DDR quality 720p rip. Watch the video in high quality thanks to the magic of x.265.
This is a 10-bit HEVC encoding in x265.
